Nursing Philosophy

I believe that ALL people deserve quality unbiased care, regardless of age, socioeconomic status, race, gender, geographic location, religion, and presence of other health issues(ex. mental illness, diabetes). I believe that decisions regarding care are ultimately up to the patient, and providers should not pass judgment based on these decisions. I believe in practicing empathy and compassion while keeping in mind that providers will never truly know what it is like to live that patient's life. I am aware that this is not the way that healthcare currently functions and I want to change that. I believe that students are the force of change and will make a better tomorrow. I believe in Evidence-Based Practice and using data while also practicing patient-centered care to provide the best possible care for patients.
